Many people spend huge tracts of time trawling through household pictures, birth, loss of life, and marriage certificates and online repositories of church information and the like to compile an understanding of the place they came from, culturally and geographically. For years, I’ve been using data to drive my instruction. Tests (summative assessments) had been entered into a program (Eduphoria) that aggregated the information for me and I used it religiously to make adjustments in my educating and lesson planning. This is how I found the ideas that my students were understanding, not understanding, and what instructing methods and strategies were handiest.
